The Parable Project
Old Bear Records and A Thousand Hills Music, are humbled to annouce commitments from Sovereign Grace's Eric McAllister, SoutheEast Christian Church's Nicole Grote, and Ryan Paonessa as artists to perform on The Parable Project as we go into studio April 15-26th of 2018. All are incredible artists and have served within the church for years; and more importantly, they all have a deep personal love for Jesus which overflows in their lives and ministries.
A Maryland native, Eric grew up in a Christian home where he gained a love for music before he could even walk. But it was in college, while pursuing a degree in African-American Music, that the gospel truly captured and definitively altered the course of his life. After college, he entered a one-year internship with Sovereign Grace Ministries and went on to serve as Associate Director of Music for Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland. It was there that the Lord began to kindle a desire in Eric’s heart to equip the church with resources that resonate across an array of cultural spheres. Eric has appeared as a composer, co-writer and vocalist on several independent and national Christian releases and released his first single, Happy Are The Ones, in the Spring of 2017. Eric, his wife Monielleand their children, Ellington Jude and Keziah Ruth reside in Philadelphia, where they are members of Risen Christ Fellowship.
Nicole is a Louisville based worship leader whose passion is using her gifts to connect others to the meaning of true worship: a life of loyal service to Christ.
Nicole's career has entailed leading “Worship Workshops” for high school students, leading worship in various local churches in her community and abroad, touring with Lee University Choir, and performing roles as lead and backing vocalist on many recording projects. She started her career as the hook singer for a successful Christian rap artist. Nicole is currently a part of “Awaken Worship” at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY, and has been a very active member of A Thousand Hills Music for some time. She is looking forward to being a part of The Parable Project in the spring.
Ryan is currently the Director of Worship at Peoples Church in Pinckney, MI. In 20+ years of worship leading he sees God continuing to confirm and validate the calling on his life. He loves watching people move closer to the Heart of the Father through music. His passion is coaching the worship leaders of tomorrow, and helping the Church develop a lifestyle of worship.
We are more than excited to announce that David Santistevan, Ryan Clair, and Ian Zumback have agreed to write for and perform on The Parable Project as we go into Old Bear Studio's to record in April of 2018. David, Ryan, and Ian are all incredible, seasoned writers and Worship leaders and we know that what God breathes into them to add to the project will be a huge blessing to the project and the Church.
David is a Worship Pastor with a heart for the local church. For 11 years he has led the worship ministry of Allison Park Church in Pittsburgh, PA helping to develop worship leaders and teams for 3 campuses. He also runs “Beyond Sunday Worship”, a popular website for worship leaders that includes blogs, podcasts, online courses, and coaching. He has interviewed over 160 guests on the Beyond Sunday Podcast including, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Brian & Jenn Johnson, Martin Smith, Kari Jobe, & Louie Giglio. He's also an Associate with Slingshot Group, helping church build remarkable teams through staffing and coaching. He is married to Emily and they have two kids, Tyler and Eliana. They are currently traveling the USA in a motorhome leading worship & workshops, coaching teams, drinking coffee, and eating Mexican food.
Ryan believes he has finally reached a place where he feels at home. It's music that is rooted and carry's on through generations. A style that all ages can appreciate. Ryan is family man with 5 kids and a beautiful wife. He writes music that tells his story and faith journey as a follower of Jesus Christ. When Ryan is not playing shows you can find him leading worship at The Journey North Church in Baxter Minnesota.
Ian had personally resolved to not play music at all if it were not beneficial to his growing relationship with Christ or to his personal testimony of how God had changed his life. After two years, through various affirmations and a guitar given to him by his wife Susan, he began a new journey as a worshipper and songwriter. Today, Ian plays to audience large and small, offering a powerful authenticity and transparency not only in song, but in his person. His sound and lyrics resonate with people in their raw, truth-telling nature in a way that evokes a deep sense of shared experience.
